The JASR Series air separators by John Wood Company feature tangential openings that create a vortex action, efficiently separating air from water. The heavier, air‑free water moves toward the vessel walls while the separated air is funneled to the center and vented through the top of the separator. Water exits through a bottom outlet nozzle, remaining free of air bubbles and protecting downstream equipment.

These units are constructed to meet ASME Code Section VIII, Division I standards, with a carbon steel shell finished in exterior gray primer. They are available in 2″ and 2½″ sizes with MNPT connections and in 3″ and larger sizes with flanged connections. Lifting lugs are not designed to support the vessel in the piping system; instead, the separator can be supported by piping system hangers positioned under the inlet and outlet nozzles near the shell’s outside diameter. Optional factory‑welded support brackets are available and required for 6″ and larger sizes in seismic designs.
